Your 4th Birthday Party

Hey Kiddo!  We just got home from the zoo where we celebrated your 4th birthday party.  You had a really great time and were a pretty good boy, considering it was a long and very hot day.

We started the day at the Kansas City Zoo with your birthday party at 10:00am.  The party started with a presentation of some zoo animals: a blue frog, a king snake, a hedgehog and a hissing cockroach!  You got to touch everything but the frog.  There were lots of oohs and aahs and some squeals from the mommies when you and your friends touch the slimy things!

After the presentation, we got to enjoy cupcakes, ice cream and juice boxes.  You were eating nicely and enjoying your friends.  When I told you you could open presents after you were done with your treats, you decided you had enough and were ready to open presents.  Your friends finished eating their treats and then gathered around you to watch.

You were so cute opening your presents.  Several times you exclaimed "It's just what I wanted" or "Wow! I LOVE this".  One of our neighbors told daddy that you are officially the cutest kid ever.  I agree!

To end the party you got to give a stuffed monkey to each of your friends.  Everyone thought that was neat and walked out into the zoo wearing their monkeys.

We walked around the zoo with Aunt Annie, Matthew McBath and his mom.  We met up with Blake & Caleb Sampson and Reece & Arielle Lamy and their moms as well.  We also saw several of your friends throughout the day.  It was nice to be able to have your party and then let everyone spend their time at the zoo how they wanted to spend it.

The day started out kinda overcast and not so hot.  We rode the carousel two times and then went to the "big tree" which you had said you wanted to play on.  By lunchtime it was getting very warm and we were all sweating.  Matthew's mom and I could tell you guys were super hungry and we stopped to have hot dogs for lunch.  After lunch we rode the train to the tram stop where we hitched a ride to Africa.  We saw the hippos and rhinos, giraffees and zebras.  It was too hot for the chimps and lions apparently because they were not out.  When we went by the warthog, it was obviously ready to go in because it was banging it's head on it's cage door.  You, me and daddy all thought that was funny.

By the time we had finished touring Africa we were all tired and ready to go home.  We were lucky to have such a nice place to spend your birthday party at.  It was so much fun and I can't believe we are already celebrating your 4th birthday!  It seems like just yesterday daddy and I were going to the hospital to meet your for the first time!  It has been a wonderful four years with you little man and I hope that today was super fun and very special for you because you mean the world to me!  I want you to be happy and enjoy life!  I love you little man!

Love and kisses,
Momma

Hi buddy. Right now you are eating lunch and watching Pinky Dinky Doo. You were watching Open Season 2, a movie we got from a Redbox machine this morning. I went downstairs to check on you around 11:30am (I was on the computer) and you were laying down asleep. You slept for quite a while (until 2pm). You're not feeling 100% but that nap sure did help. We'll go to Daddy's softball game in a little bit. When I told you that Daddy's softball game was tonight you said "YESSS!".

I also just made your sticker chart. Just a simple chart to encourage you to go potty in the toilet rather than your pants. Since Monday you've only had one bad day and went potty in your pants a few times that day. But, every other day has been great. As soon as it's filled up, we get to go to Chuck E Cheese. You're quite excited about that.

Welcome to your blog little man!

Hi Brett. I've decided to create a blog for you. In this blog I hope to write about your everyday life and tell you about all the things I think are important and that I want you to know and remember. I will blog later, when your sister is not crying and after I'm done making your sticker chart! I love you little man.
